Vietnam – UAE still Have Big Potential to Boost Cultural and Language Exchanges
Speaking at the meeting, the UAE Ambassador to Vietnam said that UAE leaders highly appreciate developing relations with Vietnam. In addition to diplomatic and economic relations, people-to-people exchanges are an important area that must be promoted.
According to Ambassador Bader Abdulla Almatrooshi, Vietnam and the UAE are geographically far apart, but have many similarities in culture and development goals. The Ambassador expressed his pleasure to know that many cultural exchange projects have been successfully implemented between the two countries. He emphasized that the two sides have big potential to develop cultural and language exchanges through activities such as introducing literature, translating books, and teaching Arabic.

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga congratulated the UAE on its achievements in socio-economic development, being elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2022-2023 term, as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the term 2022-2024, and is hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) in 2023.
During 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and the UAE have recorded positive results in cooperation. Regarding economy, the two countries’ trade turnover in 2022 reached over US$8.8 billion, an increase of over 35% compared to 2021 (US$5.3 billion). The two countries support each other at many multilateral forums. Based on the achieved results, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga believes that the cooperation relationship between the two countries still has room for development.
The two sides expressed their goodwill to cooperate in promoting exchanges between the two peoples, and jointly carry out activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1993-2023).
On this occasion, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga congratulated Ambassador Bader Abdulla Almatrooshi on his new position in Vietnam and believed that the Ambassador would make positive contributions to strengthening cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and the UAE.
